Welcome to Almagua. The protection of your personal data is a priority for me. As a freelance author (offering soul guidance and selling original works), I treat your data confidentially and in accordance with the legal data protection regulations (GDPR).

How do I collect your data?

  1. Data you provide: This includes information from the contact form, your orders, or newsletter sign-ups.

  2. Automatic data: My IT system (Squarespace) automatically collects technical data (e.g., web browser, operating system, or time of page access) as soon as you enter the website.

2. Hosting and Squarespace Specifics

I use the Squarespace platform (Squarespace Ireland Ltd., Le Pollet, St. Peter Port, Guernsey) to host my website.

  • No Analytics Cookies: I have disabled Squarespace's performance and analytics cookies in the settings. No trackers are set to follow your user behavior across the web.

  • Basic Statistics: The statistics shown in my dashboard are based on anonymized server logs. This serves my legitimate interest (Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR) in understanding the reach of my services.

  • Security: This site uses SSL encryption to ensure that your data is transmitted securely.

3. Contact Form & Soul Guidance

If you send me a message, I store your details to process the inquiry (Art. 6 (1) (b) GDPR).

  • Confidentiality: Since I offer soul guidance, your messages are handled with the utmost discretion. Please use the form for general inquiries only; deeper private details should be discussed in a personal dialogue.

4. Sales and Donations

For sales and donations, I use external payment service providers. Your data is only passed on for the purpose of contract fulfillment (Art. 6 (1) (b) GDPR). Depending on your choice, these are:

  • Stripe: (Credit cards, Apple Pay, Google Pay) – Stripe Payments Europe Ltd., Ireland.

  • PayPal: PayPal (Europe) S.à r.l. et Cie, S.C.A., Luxembourg.

  • Small Business Status: In accordance with § 19 UStG (German Value Added Tax Act), no VAT is charged or reported to third parties.

5. Newsletter (Squarespace Email Campaigns)

My newsletter is published no more than 4 times a year. I use the internal Squarespace tool to manage recipient lists and distribution.

  • Subscription: I use the Double-Opt-In process. You will only receive emails once you have clicked the confirmation link in my welcome email.

  • Unsubscribe: You can revoke your consent at any time via the "Unsubscribe" link in any newsletter.

6. Social Media & External Services

Buttons for Instagram, Patreon, and YouTube are integrated as simple links. Data is only transferred to the respective platform once you click the button; the privacy policies of those providers then apply.

7. Storage Period and Retention Obligations

Your data will be deleted as soon as it is no longer required for the purpose for which it was collected.

  • Tax Retention Obligation: For invoices and accounting documents (e.g., from book purchases or donations), I am legally required to keep them for a period of 10 years in accordance with German tax law (§ 147 AO). During this time, processing is restricted.

Under the GDPR, you have the right to access, rectification, erasure (unless a retention obligation exists), or restriction of the processing of your data at any time, as well as the right to lodge a complaint with the responsible supervisory authority.
